Christopher James Koltzan, 55, of Hampton Bays passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026. Chris was a long time resident of his loved hamlet of Hampton Bays. He is predeceased by his father James Edmund many aunts and uncles and grandparents. His is survived by his children Mary Elizabeth, Christopher James and Margaret Rose, his mother Maureen Rose and his sister Nancy Anne. 

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Chris is a graduate of Hampton Bays High School and Niagara University. He was a proud Suffolk County Detective and served the force for 25 years. Chris was an avid fisherman who enjoyed not only catching the fish but eating them as well. Lobster and clams on the half shell were among his favorites. Chris was a friend to anyone he met. Friendly, kind and loyal are a few words that are often used to describe him. The world was a better place because of him. He will be missed.
