Obituary

On February 5th, 2013 Clifford J. Maddock, Sr. passed away peacefully, at the age of 90, surrounded by his family.

Clifford was born in New York, NY on June 11, 1922, the second son of Raymond and Ellen, brother to Raymond, Gloria, Jacqueline and Gerard. Clifford attended Andrew Jackson High School, in St. Alban's, Queens where he met the Love of His Life, Eileen Fagan, before heading off to serve in the US Navy during World War II. He was stationed aboard the USS Brooklyn in the Mediterranean and played saxophone in the navy band. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy, he married Eileen and settled in Franklin Square, Long Island where they raised their seven children together.

Cliff followed in his father's footsteps spending 39 years as a Sheet Metal Worker in Local Union #28. After retirement, he moved to Hampton Bays where he served the East End community at Southampton Hospital for 15 years. Cliff's love of the sea was a common thread throughout his life, and he spent much of his free time boating, a love he would pass on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cliff was always an active and charitable man; he served in the Knights of Columbus, and held the rank of 4th Degree Knight.

His wife Eileen and oldest son Clifford II preceded him. He leaves behind his children, Susan husband Roger Sullivan, Linda husband Sal Noto, Steve wife Dee Maddock, Eileen Maddock, Regina husband Lee Coulman, Daniel wife Kathy Maddock. Grandchildren: Clifford III, Timothy Maddock, Dannielle Maddock, Maureen Rohkamm husband Peter, Roger Sullivan Jr., Kathleen Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan wife Margaret, Keith Noto wife Carrie, Patrick Maddock, Shannon Fergus husband Chris, Brendan Maddock, Diana Nuelle, Bryce Nuelle, Daniel Maddock, Kyle Maddock, Kevin Coulman. Great Grandchildren: Clifford IV & Marina Maddock, Kayla & Timothy Maddock, Jr., Allison & Katie Sullivan, Brooke & Samantha Rohkamm, Eoin & Finn Fergus and Baby Boy Sullivan due St Patrick's Day 2013.

Visiting for Clifford J. Maddock will take place on Saturday & Sunday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at RJ O Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.

The Knights of Columbus will conduct a service on Sunday at 7:30pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, February 11th at 10:30am from St. Rosalie's Church in Hampton Bays.

Cliff will be interred in Calverton National Cemetery with his wife Eileen.

Due to the snowstorm Calverton National Cemetery has cancelled burials on February 11th. The burial has been rescheduled for February 12th at 10:30 at the cemetery.
