Dawn Jacqueline Merrill

Dawn was born August 1st 1956 in Miami FL.  She was the first born of three girls to Myron and Abigail Merrill. Dawn spent her life in Miami where she enjoyed the warmth and her immediate family close by.  A graduate of Deerborn High School in Coral Gables and Miami Dade College, she went on to become Office Manager at Hoffman Office Supplies, a caregiver at several daycare centers, managed the Children's Shoe department at JC Penny's for 13 years and spent the later part of her career as Office Manager at DJ Forms Co. She lived in the Country Club of Miami where she developed many enduring friendships.

Dawn also traveled to Hampton Bays, NY, every few years where she vacationed with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dawn had a natural love for animals and shared that love with many over the years, most recently with Willie, her adopted black cat. She truly enjoyed Facebook where she caught up with childhood friends and the social and political activities of her current friends and family. Her world here revolved around her nephew Cameron and her niece Abby. Her greatest passion in life was her love for the Lord. Her Christian faith was steadfast and unwavering. She attended services regularly with her Pastor, Bob Fowler, for over 25 years where she enjoyed being a Greeter and running the daycare center. She is survived by her mother, Gail Merrill, sisters Donna Merrill and Diane Clanton (Danny), nephew Cameron Chadsey and niece Abby Clanton.

Services will be held Sunday, May 7th at  R.J. O'Shea Funeral Home, 94 E.Montauk Highway, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. Dawn will be laid to rest beside her father Monday, May 8th at Sacred Heart Cemetery, S. Hampton NY. Her sweet and giving soul will be missed by all who knew her.
