Florence Matyas of Hampton Bays died on November 27, 2021 peacefully at home at the age of 94 years,

Florence was born in Elmont, NY to Peter and Florence Singer. She graduated from Sewanhaka High School and went on to work for the NY Telephone Company.  She met and married Peter Maytas Jr. in 1947 and celebrated 72 years together.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Peter and is survived by her children; Lillian (Robert) of Hampton Bays, Linda (Kenneth) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Peter III (Stacey) of Warren, RI, as well as two grandsons Peter and Ryan.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 2nd from 9am to 11am at the R. J. O'Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays followed by a interment in Calverton National Cemetery.
