James Saitta

James "Jim" Saitta, was a first generation Italian-American born to Illuminato and Maria Saitta in 1929, in New York, NY. One of seven children Jim was the treasured brother to siblings Nancy, Rose, Joseph, Josephine, Philip and Mildred, who preceded him in death. Jim was the beloved husband to Nancy who preceded him in death in 2005.

Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean War with an honorable discharge; after which he became a New York City police officer. As one of New York City's finest, Jim served his community for 39 years, and retired as a first-grade detective in 1991.

Jim is survived by his sons James and Tom, daughters-in-law Jennifer and Jo Ann, and his grandchildren James, Caitlin, and Thomas, who have known him as "Papa".
