Obituary

John Anthony Marano III of Hampton Bays, passed away on Saturday morning, June 28th, unexpectedly yet peacefully at home. He was only 65 years old. His family is deeply shocked and saddened at his passing; he was loved beyond words by all who knew him.

John was born on February 14, 1960 and is survived and loved dearly by his two children, Amanda Mercurio & John Anthony Marano IV; their mom Kathy Marano; his sister Donna Bunai; and his two grandchildren, John "Jack" Anthony Marano V and Tucker William Marano, with one on the way from his daughter Amanda. John also dearly loved his brother-in-law Russel Bunai, daughter-in-law Sarah Marano & son-in-law Michael Mercurio. John was predeceased by his father, John Anthony Marano III and mother, Joan Marano.

He has been a resident of Hampton Bays for the last 39 years and has owned and operated a successful business in the community, We'll Floor "U" since 1991. John was a Christian and strong believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a very active member of his local church, the Hampton Bays Assembly of God. An avid musician, boater, fisherman, golfer, and more, as well as an engaged member of the community; John brought life and fun to any event, hobby, or outing he was a part of and was friends with so many. He was a generous man, giving of his time and finances to any need, especially the local churches. One of his greatest and most recent callings in life was becoming Grandpa, or "Papa Don" to his two grandsons and he loved spending time with them dearly.

The public funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at RJ O'Shea's funeral home in Hampton Bays from 6-9pm, with any other services remaining private for the family. The family asks for your love, respect, and privacy with this matter as they are still taking the time to process this unthinkable event.

In lieu of gifts & flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to his home church, the Hampton Bays Assembly of God at 109 Ponquogue Avenue Hampton Bays NY 11946 via mail or on the church website at Hampton Bays Assembly of God through the giving button "John Marano Memorial Donation" on both the home page and the giving page. Any additional floral arrangements to be contributed can be ordered and sent from Roses & Rice florist in East Quogue directly if desired.

The family cannot express their love and gratitude to the community enough for all of the prayers and condolences, and have been so blessed by the life, love, and legacy of John that will forever impact them. He is now at home in heaven in the loving arms of his savior Jesus, forever rejoicing and celebrating.
