John Dennison Quinn "Jack" of Hampton Bays died on January 21, 2015. He was 88 years old.
Born on June 25, 1926 in Brooklyn, Mr. Quinn was a 1946 graduate of the New York State Merchant Marine Academy at Fort Schyler and served as an Ensign in the US Navy. He was a Lieutenant in the New York City Fire Department and retired after 38 years of service.
Devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Quinn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Corrine, his daughters Susan Tuths (Paul) of Southampton, Barbara Davidson (John) of Camden, Maine and his son John (Anne) of the UK, nine grandchildren, Sara, Mary, Beth, Julia, Jack, Nelle, Ryan, Grace, Patrick and Joseph and three great granddaughters, Shiloh, Ella and Priscilla Jane.
Also devoted to his church and faith, Mr. Quinn served as an elder of Leverich Memorial Church in East Elmhurst, Queens for many years.
Mr. Quinn was a long time resident of Beechhurst, Queens. Having visited Hampton Bays for many years, Mr. Quinn retired there in 1995 enjoying the bays and beaches and working in his garden.
Visiting will be on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Services at the funeral home on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:30am followed by an interment in Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
