Karen Saco of Hampton Bays died at home on June 15, 2026, as a result of metastatic cancer. She was 73. Ms. Saco was born on July, 7, 1953 in Manhattan. She earned her qualification as a Veterinary Technician in New York. Karen was blessed with the good fortune to grow up enjoying skiing in the winter and sailing in the summer. Later she returned to school to ultimately becoming a Registered Nurse, practicing in Denver, Colorado; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Anguilla, British West Indies and finally returning to New York. Karen was part of a family of nurses which included her paternal grandmother, her mother, her cousin and others. Ms. Saco ultimately focused on providing end-of-life care as a hospice nurse. Ms. Saco joined with others in the family to provide end-of-life care to many family members who chose to remain in the comfort of their homes along-side loving family, in their final days. Family and friends will remember her kindness and generosity, her tenacity and strong sense of integrity, as well as her generous and distinctive laugh. She will be missed. Ms. Saco was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Barbara Saco of Brooklyn. She is survived by her life partner, Sam Tinkler of Hampton Bays; a brother, Mark Saco and wife Monica of New Jersey; nephew Joshua Saco of London England; nephew Steven Saco, his wife Michelle and their daughters Ellie and Sofia; nephew Avery Saco of New Jersey; and nice Anusha Saco of New Jersey. Karen will be cremated and her ashes will be distributed amongst the areas dear to her.
