Lorraine
Peczkowski
Dec 17, 1933 — Jun 6, 2025
Lorraine Josephine Peczkowski of Hampton Bays, New York, and St. Augustine, Florida, died in Florida on June 6, 2025, at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Peczkowski, in 2020. Lorraine is survived by her son Gregory (wife Julia), her daughter Amy (husband Greg), and 4 grandchildren Jonathan, Sara, Victoria, Thomas (wife Shelby), great-granddaughter Ivy, and sister, Lucille Maciejewski.
Lorraine was the youngest child of Casimir and Victoria Walczak, born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. She had many family members as her mother had 9 siblings and her husband had 6 brothers, and many children and cousins for a large yet close family. In 1967, her husband's job moved the family of 4 to Hampton Bays, Long Island, where she and Tom lived for 50 years. There were many visits from Long Island back to South Bend over the years for high school reunions, family holidays, family weddings, and other events. Lorraine and Tom enjoyed many group trips with Hampton Bays friends. Through the years, these friends began to pass, and in 2017, she and Tom moved to St. Augustine, Florida, with their son and daughter-in-law.
Lorraine had a long career as a bookkeeper, and over the years worked as a bank teller, jewelry store office staff, office manager at Suffolk Life Newspapers on Long Island, and a local restaurant bookkeeper. She earned the respect and trust of her employers and colleagues with intelligence, hard work, dedication, and honesty. Her friends and family enjoyed her spirit to play board games or cards with friends, her children, and grandchildren. Lorraine was a parishioner of St. Rosalie Roman Catholic Church in Hampton Bays and regularly attended church service on Sunday mornings.
At Lorraine's request, there will be no formal services. She will be cremated and buried next to her husband, Tom, at Calverton National Cemetery. Immediate family will attend her burial on July 9, 2025, at 10:30 am, which would have been their 70th wedding anniversary.
