Obituary

Martha Gail Maggio of Hampton Bays, N.Y. gained her angel wings on July 8, 2024 at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family.

Gail is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Joseph Bennett Maggio; children Mary Williams (Scott), Joseph Jr. (Maggie), James (Susan), and John (Karen); grandchildren Timothy (Sarah), Christian (Madelyne), Jaime (Bobby), Nolan (Steven), Peter, Sarah, Aidan, and Nicholas; and sisters Lynn Scardino (Charles) and Suzanne Muller (John, predeceased). She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Corwin (Mary), was a devoted aunt to many, and dear friend to so many more.

Gail devoted her life in service to God, her family, and her community as a longtime registered nurse, home healthcare supervisor, and active parishioner of more than a half century of her hometown St. Rosalie's R.C. Church. She saw and brought out the good in every person whose life she touched.

Visitation at R.J. O'Shea Funeral Home will take place on Thursday, July 11, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be on Friday, July 12, 10:30 a.m. at St. Rosalie's R.C. Church in Hampton Bays, with interment at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays to follow the mass.

In lieu of flowers, Gail requested donations be made in her memory to either East End Hospice or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
