Michael R Boguskywas born May 8, 1944 to John and Mary Bogusky in Brooklyn New York.
After graduating high school Michael served in the United States Army stationed in Cam Rahn Bay
Vietnam. Michael served in the Army from 1965-1967.Michael was married to his first wife Josaphine, aka Joyce Bogusky in Oceanside Queens and had three children together Michele, Denise and Michael.
Michael worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 30 years where he was first stationed as a crew chief at the emergency garage at the Lincoln tunnel and then he was stationed as the Senior tunnel and bridge crew chief agent at the George Washington Bridge.
Joyce had passed away from pancreatic cancer. Michael had been a widower for 6 years when he reconnected with Patricia Madison, with whom he lived next door to in Brooklyn since he was four years old. Michael and Patricia married in 2005 and Michael moved to Hampton Bays.
Michael was then stepfather to Scott & Pamela Horowitz, David Madison, Ron Horowitz, and Heather and Thomas Haynia. Michael enjoyed going to Cedar Design lnc every day, a roofing and siding company his stepson Tom owns for camaraderie and to drive the forklift. It was there he got the nickname Shop Mike. He was loved and admired by all the builders, distributers and employees. Michael was always there to lend the guys a hand or advice as they needed it. Michael was a kind and compassionate man who was extremely grounded in his faith. He was always carrying a bible and reading from his book The Daily Bread.
Michael passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. He's predeceased by his parents John and Mary Bogusky, and his first wife Joyce Bogusky. He's survived by his wife Patricia Bogusky, his sister Dorothy (Dotty) Vira, Michele, Greg, Alexia and Ellie Kourie, Denise, Stephen, Mikayla, Emily and Nicholas Serynek, Michael Bogusky, Scott, Pamela, Ryan, Cristine, Jackson, Brittany Horowitz, David, David Jr, Benjamin, Brady and Victoria Madison, Ron, Randi Horowitz, Heather, Thomas, Maximus, Marcus and Magnus Haynia.
Michael will be laid to rest in Calverton National Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be held from St. Rosalie's Church in Hampton Bays on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 10:30AM. A burial in Calverton National Cemetery will follow the mass.
