Michele (Mike) J. Marzullo, 89 of Southampton passed away on September 9, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born in East New York, Mike graduated Brooklyn Technical High School then served as an Aviation Cadet in the Army Air Force. He married Gloria Longobardi in 1943.
His career paths were varied and his work ethic passionate. They included: Machine Operator, New York City Police Detective, Restauranteur, Owner of The Cottage Restaurant in Westhampton Beach, New York City Taxi Owner and Investigator with The Suffolk County Attorney's Office.
Mike was proud of his Italian heritage and was instrumental in organizing The Michelangelo Lodge of the Hamptons. He was a member of The Columbia Association, NYPD Honor Legion, Elks Lodge, American Legion, A Southampton Republican Committeeman and most recently an avid supporter of Honor Flight. He was zealous and greatly knowledgeable about politics, basketball and baseball.
He is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Gloria. Their children Vincent and Josephine Marzullo of Rhode Island and Marietta and Charles Seaman of Quogue. Grandchildren Michael Marzullo, Renee Seaman, Amanda Marzullo-Wilmouth and husband Ryan, Charles Seaman and wife Catherine. Great Grandson Charles Joseph (CJ) and sister Josephine Romano.
Arrangements entrusted to the R. J. O'Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 10:30am from St. Rosalie's R. C. Church. Interment to follow in Calverton National Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday 4 to 8pm.
