Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Patti Ann Kelly of Hampton Bays, New York shares that Patti passed away at the Kanas Center in Westhampton on October 25, 2025. Patti was the youngest daughter of Marilouise and Eugene Kelly who pre-deceased her. She was born in Flushing, New York on September 13, 1955, and is survived by her siblings: Edward (Mary Ann) Kelly, Eugene (Veronica) Kelly, James (Brenna) Kelly, Marilynda (Denny) Vianna, Barbara (Billy) Tierney, Christine Weiss, and deceased brother-in-law Ed Weiss.  She also had many nieces and nephews.

Patti is fondly remembered as a dedicated and loving caretaker of her mom. Her adventurous spirit led to many trips, including exciting cruises they took together. She was an avid long-distance swimmer and bicyclist. Patti earned a BS in Biology from Stonybrook University, a Master of Science in Zoology from University of Maryland and a PHD in Food Science and Nutrition from The University of Rhode Island. Patti could do anything she put her mind to which resulted in a career starting in Marine Science at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, launching her own Water Business, to having success in Commercial Real Estate. One manager described Patti as very meticulous and consistent in her approach. She knows the facts and does her research. Her loyalty and devotion to her clients is unprecedented.  This very much describes Patti and reflects the deep devotion she had to her mom, particularly as her momaged.

The family asks you to smile or say a prayer whenever you remember her.  If you wish to donate, please pick the charity closest to your heart or the East End Hospice eeh.org.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Patti on November 1 at St. Rosalies in Hampton Bays.
