Salvatore A. Conte, age 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren, on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Sal was born on July 23, 1925. At 17 he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in WWII in the Pacific Theater. He is survived by his wife, Rose, of 59 years and by his children and their spouses: Jean and Dio, Frank, Joseph and Vicki, Donna, and Cara; his 10 grandchildren: Thomas, Matthew & Zabrena, Christopher, Nicholas, Robert, Katie, Ben, Sabrina, Alex, and Grant; and one great grandchild: Anthony. Sal was an active member of St. Rosalie's Parish in Hampton Bays and was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus.

Viewing will be held at R.J. O'Shea funeral home in Hampton Bays on March 18 & 19 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and the funeral mass on March 20 at 10:30 am at St. Rosalie's R. C Church. Sal grew up in an orphanage and had a special place in his heart for disadvantaged youth.
