Sharon Beebee of Hampton Bays passed away on July 24, 2021 at the age of 61 years.

A native of Hampton Bays, Ms. Beebee attended Hampton Bays Schools and went on to graduate from Cornell University with a degree in Business Administration.

She started her career in finance in New York City, moved to California in 1987 and in 1992 entered the Peace Corps spending her time in West Africa where she implemented an exchange pen pal progran between Liberian refugee students and a Riverhead 3rd grade class.  Sharon fell in love with the people and culture and had many stories to tell of her experinces there.

Sharon was always up for an adventure, whether the Wednesday night sailing race around Shelter Island, crewing on a boat down the inter- coastal waterway or a livingroom dance party, she always gave her all.  Family and friends describe her as generous and kind, and she held those relationships dear.  A lover of photography, art and nature, Sharon found herself outside whenever possible which included a job at the Nature Conservancy.  Ultimately, however, she returned to California in 2000 for a better year round climate.  While there she became a project manager of a start up company, working with Palo Alto Medical Foundation, the Santa Cruz Woman's Health Center and Director of Communicable Disease and Prevention with Alameda Dept. of Health.  Ms. Beebee returned to Hampton Bays in 2015 to be closer to family and will be greatly missed by all she left behind.

She is survived by her mother Eileen Randolph, her sister Michelle (David Sherwood), her brother Bob Beebee, her brother in law Kevin McKenna and her nieces Colleen, Ana, Lauren, Abby and Emily. She is predeceased by her father Robert Beebee and her sister Patricia McKenna.
