Major Thomas E. MacDermant, USMC (Ret.)
September 12, 1939 – January 2, 2026

Major Thomas E. MacDermant, USMC, Retired, died on January 2, 2026, in Patchogue, New York, at the age of 86.  Born in the Bronx, New York, on September 12, 1939, Thomas was the son of the late Libia I. "Lee" (Lena) Bloomquist.  He'd lived in Beaufort, SC for 49 years.

He served as a U.S. Marine for 27 years, retiring in 1984.  He was a 1964 graduate of Brown University, and a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marie-Claude "MC" Baronnie of Hampton Bays, New York; two sons, Sean T. MacDermant and his wife Jennifer Hope MacDermant of Memphis, Tennessee, and Brian J. MacDermant of Beaufort, South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew MacDermant, who brought immense joy to his life.
